Short: Ncomm 3.07 update. Keyfile included. Author: Torkel Lodberg (with small updates by Ola Lidholm, Gunnar Karlstrom) Uploader: ncomm olal se (Ola Lidholm) Type: comm/term Version: 3.07 Requires: WB 2+ Architecture: m68k-amigaos NComm V3.07: Released the 23rd of June 2026 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some short 30 years and some months have passed since the last release. It was not on our mind to work on a updated release of NComm but during the development of our new Amiga hardware with serial port emulation we scratched our heads a bit since we simply could not get NComm to fully work with our driver. At this point we reached out to Torkel to ask if it was possible to get a copy of the source code so that we could more easily debug the problem. He was kind enough to share it with us and allowed us to make a new release. We quite quickly discovered that what we had stumbled upon was a bug in NComm that caused it to insert a trash character in its input buffer during specific circumstances (timing dependent probably), which in turn stopped zmodem download from starting. We also found that others had noticed this bug in NComm previously, so we felt that it would be a good idea to make a new release. We also took the opportunity to add a couple of new baud rates: 230400 and 1500000 baud. It is after all 2026 and we feel the need for speed. 230400 is the modern version of 115200 and was therefore added. 1500000 baud is maybe not so useful for others, but for our own developed hardware it is relevant. Note that the keyfile that is publicly available on Aminet works with this release as well and that all copyright as described for the previous version (3.06) is still valid. This keyfile is included in this release archive. To compile this release we had to make a few changes to the source code since we could not find all the correct dependenices. If you find new (or old bugs) feel free to contact us at ncomm@olal.se /Ola and Gunnar Fixes: - Trash character received during zmodem init bug found and fixed. New features: - 230400 and 1500000 baud now supported.
