Oracle was originally developed in AMOS Professional beginning in 1996. The last known historical beta is version 0.3d, dated 13 December 1996. The project was initially planned as ShareWare, but was never completed or commercially released. This archive preserves a ready-to-run ADF disk image containing the compiled historical game. It is intended for players who want to discover the original version in an emulator such as WinUAE, or on compatible Amiga hardware, without installing AMOS Professional. Tested configuration: - WinUAE 6.0.3 - Amiga 1200 profile - Motorola 68020 or later - 2 MB Chip RAM - 8 MB Fast RAM - AGA chipset - Workbench 3.0-based disk environment The executable has also been launched successfully from a Workbench 1.3 environment using the same expanded A1200 hardware profile. Compatibility with a standard Amiga 500 equipped with only 1 MB of memory is not currently guaranteed. Features implemented in this historical build: - First-person corridor rendering - Walls, floors, ceilings and doors - NPCs with basic movement and combat behaviour - Auto-map revealed as the player explores - Mouse-driven interface - Movement controls - Inventory and spell interface placeholders - Disk and pause controls - Sound effects and music using AMCAF - Animated doors using AMAL scripts This is a compiled build. AMOS Professional and its extensions are not required to run the game. They are only required to study, modify or rebuild the source version.
