This program simply gets some information on PCMCIA modems and then
saves it to a file.
The reason I've written this program is so that I can get information
on as many different PCMCIA modems as possible for some research I'm
currently doing. As this is the case I'd very much appreciate it, if
you have a a600 or a1200 and a pcmcia modem handy, if you could email
me the two files which are produced by this program, pcmcia.attr and
pcmcia.desc along with as much information on the modem you used as
possible, including the manufacturer, model details and speed
By the way, when I say a PCMCIA modem, I don't mean a modem plugged
into a Surf Squirrel, I mean a modem which plugs directly into the
PCMCIA port.
Using ModemTest
===============
ModemTest is only runnable from a shell, when it's run it writes two
files to the current directory, they're called pcmcia.desc and
pcmcia.attr, some information is also printed to the screen, it may
or may not make sense to most people ;)
Many thanks to everybody who sends me information :)
And please don't email me asking what I'm researching, I'll do a
mailshot to everyone who sends me info once the research is
completed.
