ncFTPevents.br allows downloading of files from Aminet via selection from
the Thor filedatabase. Download events can be selected from the
filedatabase window or from the newfiles window which displays the
aminet-daily or aminet-weekly mailing list files.
ncFTP is used to fetch the files when online, which is part of the standard
AmiTCP distribution.
An optional log file is written to your EMail conference to indicate success
or failure of the selected files. CPS figures are written to the log file.
Optional retries are allowed upon failure of an event.
Included is a script to enable download events in Thor 2.3+.
This script was written primarily to be included in an auto poll script so
no user interaction is required and Thor does not have to be running.
If Thor is found to be running then notification upon completion is given
using Thor's GUI.
Included in the documentation is information on how to parse and Aminet
INDEX file into the Thor filedatabase and how to subscribe to the Aminet
Mailing List and parse the newfiles into the Thor filedatabase.

*NEW* Added an option to configure a second backup Aminet site. This is
useful if newfiles have not yet appeared on your local mirror. You can now
automatically retry these events at the main Aminet site.
A *NEW* version of the script for configure Thor to accept download events
has been included. This fixes a problem with editing download events in the
events editor.
An additional maintenance script, TidyDLEvents.br, has been included by
kind permission of Neil Bothwick. It cleans up Thor's event list provided
the only uncompleted events are download events.
