-- Polywog V1.94 - A freeware 3D modeller
The main purpose of this program is to play with polyhedra and "geodesic"
structures. However, it is fairly general-purpose so you could use it
for any sort of polygonal 3D modelling/world-design.
Changes since version 1.88
--------------------------
Improved and expanded the sophisticated operation of removing
redundant vertices
Improved the status messages
Added scrolling with the cursor keys
Fixed preservation of vertex uv values and normals
Added autogeneration of vertex normals
Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented constructing large objects
Many, many other small improvements and bug fixes
Features in brief
-----------------
* Creates and edits 3D polygonal objects
* Start from a wide variety of regular polyhedra
* Cut, Copy, Paste, Rotate, Scale, and Stretch
* Extrude and Stellate
* Surfaces of Revolution
* Reads and writes GEO, Sense8 NFF, and PLG format files
* Writes POV-ray triangle files
* Detach and attach polygonal meshes
* Zoom in or out
* Grid and grid snap
* Tons of keyboard shortcuts so you don't HAVE to use the GUI
* Tesselates arbitrary triangles and quadrilaterals to any frequency
* Constructs the dual of any closed polyhedron
* Removes redundant vertices or polygons
* Measure distances
* Unlimited Undo and Redo!
* Hide and unhide any part of the object while you're working on it
My day job is working for a company called Sense8 that makes a VR
programmers toolkit called WorldToolKit. Polywog was designed to create
models for low-end VR programs, so it reads and writes the following
formats:
NFF (WorldToolKit)
PLG (Rend386)
GEO (VideoScape, can be read by Lightwave)
It also writes POV-Ray triangles.
