Icon editor for use under workbench 2.04 or higher. Now works fully with
workbench 3.0 and up. Font-sensitive. Includes normal and zoom modes, all
the usual drawing tools, including text entry, polygons, and brushes.
Import/export IFF ILBM files, stretch image to any size. Supports large
icons, up to 400x400. Swap/replace one color with another. Features
appwindow (drop icons into window to load), click select icons at entry
from workbench, and shell entry with icon to edit as a parameter
(especially useful for putting IconDeluxe in the tools menu).
Changes 1.13 -> 2.00: Public version saves again! FINALLY figured out how
to make workbench display icons properly under 3.0+, fixed 3.0+ color
correction so it behaves properly (it now works completely and correctly
on all systems), no longer complains that 8-color icons have too many
colors under 3.0+, fixed a bug in the IFF brush loading, started using
3.0+'s new menu look, fixed a bug which made the text entry position
jump when zooming, when zooming while drawing the starting point is now
always visible.
Other recent changes:
- Added ability to load IFF images which have more colors than the
workbench and the ability to remap the colors of imported images so
that they best match the workbench
- Added support for 24-bit IFF's
- Added support for 3.x color scheme
- Added option to disable 3.x color scheme implementation within Icon
Deluxe
- Added option to disable 8-color limit under 3.x
- Fixed enforcer hits
- Fixed major bug in brushes loaded from IFFs which made that feature
completely unusable (sorry, that was a big one!)
- Fixed bug in setting a workbench default icon
- Fixed bug which can inappropriately lock open the workbench
- Made parts of the program more efficient (switched from using
getpath() to NameFromLock())
- Fixed bug which confused Icon Deluxe's color limit with the color
limit due to workbench depth
