This is a sequence of Franz Liszt's "Todtentanz", a
paraphrase on the Dies Irae for piano and orchestra.
It is intended for performance on a Proteus 2 and a
piano module. If you use another synth which has a piano
program, you will probably have polyphony problems, but
in any case you should be able to combine some tracks
to fit the piano into the 16-channel MIDI scheme (I
use a separate MIDI Out for the piano).
All instruments have been transposed to C. Note that
the Tremolo Strings track play Arco Cellos from bars
66-69.
I wish to thank and acknowledge Jeffrey Reid Baker
who sequenced this work for his album "Lisztonique".
He generously gave me a copy of his original sequence
to study. Inasmuch as A) he used syths that I don't have
(and few people do any more) for the orchestral parts
and B) didn't follow the score precisely, I sequenced all
the orchestral parts myself and, with his permission, borrowed
about 15% of his piano track for this sequence. I also studied
his pedalling for inclusion in the piano track, as I usually
leave this feature out unless indicated in the score.
