2001: A Space Odyssey Icons - By Mischa McLachlan

14 icons Based on the 1968 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film "2001: A Space Odyssey".


After completing the set of Fight Club icons, i got lots of great feedback
from people suggesting movie ideas.  One of the more reoccurring films was
2001: A Space Odyssey.  A film which i had really loved, and up front i
thought there would be lots of really interesting ideas for icons.  However
after starting the set, i realised a lot of the spaceships and items i
planned to make were actually very difficult to render within the boundaries
of a square icon shape.

For Example, I have not included an icon of the Monolith, or of the
Discovery spaceship.  I attempted numerous versions and wasn't satisfied
with the results i achieved.

Another problem i found was trying to replicate the sterile and clean look
found in the movie.  It meant my Photoshop airbrushing and such had to be
spot on, which meant things took a lot longer than i anticipated.

However, there is a few good icons in this set, i hope you will enjoy them!
