Alphassist is a small utility that transfers text between your Pegasos
computer and the AlphaSmart 3000 via USB. While the AlphaSmart works
together with the Pegasos through its built-in keyboard emulation via USB
and PC/2 connections, text transfer can be quite slow.

Alphassist directly connects to your AlphaSmart and speeds up the text
transfer into your computer. Additionally, it provides you with the
possibility to transfer text from your computer to your AlphaSmart,
something that is not possible with the original device except through
AlphaSmart Inc.s optional Get Utility software which is only available for
Windows and Mac.
