Purpose of the ClipHandler:

This handler, once mounted, provides file-access to the contents of
the clipboard. Access is limited to text-based clips only.

That is, writing into TEXTCLIP: will make the written text available
for Amiga-V (paste). Reading from TEXTCLIP: will return the current
contents of the clipboard.
_____________________________________________________________________________

Examples: (to be used on the shell, after mounting TEXTCLIP)

1> echo "Date" >TEXTCLIP:

Now press "Amiga-V". The console will insert the contents of the
clipboard into the shell ("Date") and will execute it.

1> copy S:Startup-Sequence to TEXTCLIP:

Now open an editor, and press "Amiga-V". This will insert the startup-
sequence into the editor.

1> type TEXTCLIP:

will print the contents of the current clip to the shell.

The ClipHandler can also easily be combined with Rexx, hence providing
there a convenient way to manipulate the contents of the clipboard.

While unit 0 is typically used for copy and paste operations, the
clipboard.devices offers more than one unit that can also be used
to exchange information between programs. For that, use the unit
number as file name:

1> echo "Text" >TEXTCLIP:1

will fill clipboard unit #1.

Installation:

Copy ClipHandler to L: and TextClip and TextClip.info to DEVS:DosDrivers.
This will mount TEXTCLIP: on the next reset. Alternatively, mount by hand.

History:

ClipHandler was/is a contribution to AmigaOs 4 which I had almost forgotten
about. Actually, I was a bit surprised to see my name in the sources of Os4
of this, and it took a while to remember that I have written this little gem.

ClipHandler is a fairly complete file handler that supports locks, disk
information, reading and writing and interlocking of processes.

ClipHandler 45.1:

First release, apparently prepared for Os 4.0, and long forgotten on the
classic machines.

ClipHandler 45.20:

This integrates the bug-fixes of about 18 years, which were surprisingly
few. The ClipHandler DupLock() function duplicated the wrong lock, hence
causing memory released twice. ACTION_DISK_INFO could lock out the system
because it waited for a write lock to be returned, even though the Copy
command first creates the write lock before sending the information request.
Also, this release integrates a proper version string and removes trailing
zeros from the data hunk, making the program shorter. I am also getting
rid of the conclip.library which was build as part of the handler since it
is probably not used a lot anyhow.

ClipHandler 45.25:

This version fixes the information the ClipHandler returns upon
ACTION_EXAMINE. Unfortunately, the order of unit and type were reversed.

"without charge"; these are only examples, and not an exhaustive
enumeration of prohibited activities).

However, the following methods of distribution involving payment shall not
in and of themselves be a violation of this restriction:

(i) Distributing the Program on a physical data carrier (e.g. CD-ROM,

a) the Archive is reproduced entirely and verbatim on such data carrier,
   including especially this licence agreement;

b) the data carrier is made available to the public for a nominal
fee only, i.e. for a fee that covers the costs of the data carrier,
   and shipment of the data carrier;

c) a data carrier with the Program installed is made available to the
author for free except for shipment costs, and

d) provided further that all information on said data carrier is
redistributable for non-commercial purposes without charge.

Redistribution of a modified version of the Archive, the Program or the
