Short: Six more decks for PrismaRec Author: Marcus Gerards Uploader: marcus gerards googlemail com (Marcus Gerards) Type: mus/edit Version: 1.0 Requires: PrismaRec 1.0 or newer (in driver/audio/PrismaMegamixNG.lha, PrismaNG 3.2 or newer); a screen of 64 colours or more Architecture: generic Distribution: NoCD Kurz: Sechs weitere Decks fuer PrismaRec PrismaRecSkins 1.0 -- 18.10.2026 WHAT IT IS Six more decks for PrismaRec, the cassette-deck recorder for the Prisma Megamix sound card. A deck is a look for PrismaRec's window, painted rather than drawn: its face, its keys held down, the cassette's door shut and open. PrismaRec puts its own working parts on it -- the reels, the level meters, the tape counter, the lamps, the time and the take. PrismaRec draws Deck '84 and its System look itself, on any screen, and comes with two decks of pictures, 1985 Graphite and 1990 Titanium. This package has the others. WHAT IS IN IT Each deck is one drawer in Files/Skins; in quotes the name PrismaRec's settings list it by. Skins/1975 "1975 Walnut": champagne aluminium in a walnut trim, cream piano keys, an amber display Skins/Silver "Silver": a brushed aluminium face with silver keys and a green display Skins/Black80s "Black '80s": black brushed metal with gold letters, the cassette behind a smoked door, three lamps, a tape counter of its own, a meter of two rows with a scale under each Skins/Early80s "Early '80s": champagne aluminium, the cassette behind a smoked door, three lamps, one wide panel for the time, the take and the tape counter Skins/D90 "D-90": a silver deck of 1980 -- keys that tilt down when pressed, a tape counter of three wheels, two VU meters with moving needles, the input chosen by a plug in one of its two MIC jacks Skins/A4000D "A4000D": the deck in the front of an Amiga 4000 desktop -- an LED tape counter, the input on the key lock, the HDISK lamp lit while it records, the cassette on a tray that slides out of the drive bay Each drawer holds the deck's Skin.prefs, which places every part, its pictures (ILBM) and, in Soft, a second set drawn for half-high pixels. WHAT THEY NEED * PrismaRec 1.0 or newer. It comes with PrismaNG, the Prisma Megamix software (driver/audio/PrismaMegamixNG.lha), and in a package of its own. * A screen of 64 colours or more: AGA, or a graphics card. On a screen with fewer PrismaRec shows Deck '84 instead. * On PAL or NTSC hires, whose pixels are half as high as they are wide, PrismaRec uses the deck's second set (Soft) by itself. * The words on the decks are printed in helvetica, and Black '80s' in times as well: fonts every Workbench has in FONTS:. * About 650 KB of disk space a deck, 3.9 MB for all six. Setting a deck up takes some seconds on a slower machine; a small window shows how far it has come. INSTALLATION Double-click Install. It looks for PrismaRec where its Installers put it -- the Prisma drawer (the PrismaNG Installer), SYS:Tools/PrismaRec (PrismaRec's own package) -- and copies the decks into the drawer Skins beside PrismaRec, making Skins if there is none. * Novice: all six decks, into the PrismaRec it found. Without one it stops and says so. * Intermediate and Expert: it asks for PrismaRec's drawer (offering the one it found) and which decks you want. By hand: copy the deck drawers you want from Files/Skins into the drawer Skins beside PrismaRec -- one drawer a deck, as many as you like. PrismaRec looks into Skins when it starts: quit a PrismaRec that runs and start it again. Then choose the deck in Settings > Display (Einstellungen > Aussehen in German), or start PrismaRec with SKIN= and the deck's drawer, such as SKIN=D90. A deck that cannot be used is left out of the list; chosen by name, PrismaRec says why. To remove a deck, delete its drawer from Skins. HISTORY 1.0 - first release
