Changes for release 40.43:

- This is the first Aminet release of Lha.

This archive contains a re-implementation of the Amiga Lha program, the
omnipresent archiver defining the most prominent distribution format
of Aminet. As the 1.x and 2.x release series is out of maintenance,
it became necessary to start from scratch and offer an updated version.

While 40.x series of Lha is fully compatible to the 1.x and 2.x series,
it is not based on it. It only implements the same format, and recognizes
the same options on the command line.

New features:

- Lha is now able to archive soft and hard links. A new command line
  option -Ql defines how to handle them.
- Lha is now able to create self-extracting archives with the new -Qx
  command line option.
- Lha no longer blocks the iconification of its shell window.
- Lha does not require huge amounts of stack anymore. The default
  stack of 4K is fully sufficient.
- Compression and extraction speed have been improved.
- Lha can be made resident (it is "pure"). If you want to use the
  -Qx option for creating self-extracting archives, make sure Lha is
  also placed in the C: directory as it needs to parse its own
  binary.

Restrictions:

- This version of Lha requires Os 2.04 or better.
- The -w option ("set working directory") is no longer supported.
- The -lh2- and -lh3- compression formats are not implemented as
  there is not a single file in Aminet depending on them, and as
  they do not compress any better. -lh0- (no compression), -lh1-
  (the old lzh format) and -lh4- to -lh7- are supported.

Installation:

- Copy the Lha binary wherever you want. Preferably to C: if
  you want to make Lha resident and use the -Qx option.

- Copy the Guide to wherever you want.

Redistribution of a modified version of the Archive, the Program or the
