LumiZip opens, unpacks, tests and creates archives on AmigaOS 3.x,
with a MUI 3.8 interface and a toolbar. It is part of the Lumi
suite and shares its look, its menu and its ARexx conventions with
the other tools.
LumiZip does not pack anything itself. It is the window around the
Amiga port of 7-Zip 26.04 (the program 7zz): it builds the command
lines, runs 7zz as a separate process and reads what it says. That
is why LumiZip opens some sixty formats, and why the window stays
usable while a job is running.
FEATURES
--------
- Opens some sixty formats, among them 7z, zip, tar, gzip,
bzip2, xz, lzh, rar (read only) and iso
- Browse an archive directory by directory, or browse your
drawers and unpack or test a selected archive without
opening it
- Unpack the whole archive or a selection, test an archive,
view a single file (MultiView or a viewer of your choice)
- Checksums of files and archive entries (SHA-256, MD5, CRC32 and
more): compute, save as a file, verify later
- Virus check of archive contents with xvs.library, on request or
automatically after extracting; crunched programs are unpacked
first if xfdmaster.library is installed
- Create archives: 7z, zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, xz, tar.gz, tar.bz2,
tar.xz, wim
- Add files and directories to an archive, also into a directory
inside it; remove and rename entries
- Include and exclude patterns (AmigaDOS style, #?.bak) for
packing, adding and unpacking
- Fine-tuning when packing: method (LZMA2, PPMd, BZip2, Deflate64
...), dictionary size with memory check, solid blocks
- Update or freshen an archive (only new or newer files), move
files into an archive
- Convert an archive into another format (lha to 7z, 7z to zip ...)
- Write lha archives with LhA (new, add, update, delete); 7zz only
reads lha
- Recently opened archives, archive comments in the Info window
- Workbench Tools menu entry and drop on the iconified LumiZip
- Log below the status line or in a window of its own: command
lines, program output and results; optional log file
- Self-extracting archives: a program that unpacks itself from the
Shell or by double-click (needs 7zSFX from the 7-Zip package)
- Passwords, also for archives whose file names are encrypted
- tar.gz, tar.xz and tar.bz2 open down to the files inside
- Archives and files can be dropped on the window
- Progress window while 7zz works; jobs can be cancelled
- Archive names converted between UTF-8 and your system's
character set (codesets.library)
- Full ARexx scripting interface (port LUMIZIP.1)
- Runs as a single instance: a second start hands its archive
to the running LumiZip
- Automatic update check via signature verification
- AmigaGuide documentation (incl. ARexx reference)
- Localisation: English, German
REQUIREMENTS
------------
- AmigaOS 3.1 or compatible
- Motorola 68020 or higher
- About 1 MB for LumiZip itself; 7zz needs more, depending on
the job (about 3 MB for listing, for packing 12 times the
dictionary size plus 3 MB)
- MUI 3.8 (v19) or higher
- NList.mcc, TheBar.mcc
- codesets.library 6.x (mandatory - shows archive names in your
system's character set). Available from Aminet
(util/libs/codesets-lib).
- 7zz, the Amiga port of 7-Zip 26.04 (mandatory for all archive
functions; Aminet util/arc/7zip.lha, with builds for 68020
and for 68040 or higher). Copy the build for your CPU to C:7zz.
Without it LumiZip starts, says so, and keeps the archive
functions disabled.
- 7zSFX from the same package (only for self-extracting archives).
Copy it to C:7zSFX.
- xvs.library 33 or newer (optional - virus check; Aminet
util/virus/xvslibrary.lha) and xfdmaster.library (optional -
unpacks crunched programs for the check; Aminet
util/pack/xfdmaster.lha)
- LhA 2.x (optional - creating and changing lha archives; Aminet
util/arc/lha.run). Copy it to C:LhA or set its path in the settings.
- tz.library (optional - file dates in local time including
summer time)
- AmiSSL 5.x and a TCP/IP stack (optional - only for the update
check)
Successfully tested on AmigaOS 3.1, 3.2, 3.5 and 3.9.
INSTALLATION
------------
Recommended: open the archive, double-click the "Install" icon
in the LumiZip/ drawer and follow the AmigaOS Installer (English
or German). It copies the binary, the localisation catalogs and
the AmigaGuide help files to the location you choose.
Manual install: copy the LumiZip binary and its .info icon
wherever you like, e.g. SYS:Tools/, place the catalogs in
LOCALE:Catalogs/<language>/ and the guides in HELP:<language>/.
7zz and 7zSFX are not part of this archive. They come in
7zip.lha on Aminet (util/arc): copy the 7zz for your CPU to
C:7zz and 7zSFX to C:7zSFX, as its readme describes. The installer
warns if C:7zz is missing. Icons that are already there are kept.
LumiZip looks for 7zz in this order: the SEVENZIP tooltype, the
path in the settings (empty by default), C:7zz. 7zSFX and LhA are
looked for the same way.
Settings live in ENVARC:LumiZip/LumiZip.prefs. The guides belong
next to the binary, in Help/<language>/ - that is where the Help
key looks.
TOOLTYPES
---------
PUBSCREEN=<name> Public screen for the window
SEVENZIP=<path> The 7zz program; goes before the path in the
settings
ICONIFY=YES Start iconified (icon only, no window)
Keywords on the Shell command line go before the tooltypes.
All three ship with the program icon in parentheses (visible but
inactive) - remove the parentheses in the icon's Information window
to switch one on.

DEUTSCHE VERSION / GERMAN VERSION
================================================================
FUNKTIONEN
----------
- Öffnet rund sechzig Formate, darunter 7z, zip, tar, gzip,
- Archive erzeugen: 7z, zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, xz, tar.gz, tar.bz2,
tar.xz, wim
- Feineinstellungen beim Packen: Methode (LZMA2, PPMd, BZip2,
Dateien), Dateien ins Archiv verschieben
abbrechen
- Archivnamen zwischen UTF-8 und dem Zeichensatz des Systems
umgesetzt (codesets.library)
- Volle ARexx-Schnittstelle (Port LUMIZIP.1)
- AmigaGuide-Dokumentation inkl. ARexx-Referenz
- Lokalisierung: Deutsch und Englisch
SYSTEMVORAUSSETZUNGEN
---------------------
- NList.mcc, TheBar.mcc
- codesets.library 6.x (zwingend erforderlich - zeigt Archivnamen
im Zeichensatz des Systems). Verfügbar im Aminet
(util/libs/codesets-lib).
- 7zz, die Amiga-Fassung von 7-Zip 26.04 (zwingend für alle
Archivfunktionen; Aminet util/arc/7zip.lha, mit Fassungen
für 68020 und für 68040 oder höher). Die Fassung für Ihre CPU
als C:7zz kopieren. Ohne 7zz startet LumiZip, sagt es und lässt
die Archivfunktionen gesperrt.
- 7zSFX aus demselben Paket (nur für selbstentpackende Archive).
Als C:7zSFX kopieren.
- xvs.library 33 oder neuer (optional - Virenprüfung; Aminet
util/virus/xvslibrary.lha) und xfdmaster.library (optional -
entpackt gecrunchte Programme für die Prüfung; Aminet
util/pack/xfdmaster.lha)
- LhA 2.x (optional - lha-Archive erzeugen und ändern; Aminet
util/arc/lha.run).
Einstellungen angeben.
Update-Check)
Erfolgreich getestet unter AmigaOS 3.1, 3.2, 3.5 und 3.9.
INSTALLATION
------------
Empfohlen: Archiv öffnen, im Verzeichnis LumiZip/ auf "Install"
doppelklicken und dem AmigaOS-Installer folgen (deutsche oder
englische Sprache). Er kopiert das Binary, die Sprachkataloge und
die AmigaGuide-Dokumentation an den gewählten Ort.
Manuelle Installation: das LumiZip-Binary und das zugehörige
Piktogramm an einen beliebigen Ort kopieren (z.B. SYS:Tools/),
entfernen.
