ptable.library is the AmigaOS partition-table library: one place that parses
RDB, MBR, GPT and flat layouts and publishes every partition into a shared
partition.resource, so a device driver and a filesystem handler never each
carry their own partition parser.

It was assembled from existing code: the library framework and RDB cold-boot
path came from compactflash.device, the MBR/GPT scanning from fat95.

Consumed by compactflash.device 2.0+ (driver/media/cfd) and fat95 4.0+ (disk/misc/fat95).

New major version of ptable.library 2.0:

* Unified partition scanning: one scanner parses RDB, MBR, GPT and flat
  (whole-disk FAT) tables and publishes every partition into
  partition.resource, the shared partition manager. Any driver or
  handler reads the layout from there instead of parsing the card
  itself; compactflash.device and fat95 do today. See docs/ptable.guide.

New tool 'lsptres 1.0':

* Lists the contents of partition.resource. See docs/lsptres.guide.

WHAT IT DOES
============
* Cold-boot RDB autoboot: boot directly from an RDB-partitioned card
  (requires the library ROM-resident).
* DOS-time scanning and automount: discover and mount hotplugged
  RDB/MBR/GPT/flat cards, via the consuming driver.
* Publishes a shared partition.resource that any driver or handler can read
  instead of parsing the partition table itself.

REQUIREMENTS
============
* AmigaOS 2.0 or higher.
* A consumer that uses the library: compactflash.device (driver/media/cfd)
  or fat95 (disk/misc/fat95). ptable.library on its own does nothing.
* For cold-boot autoboot the library must be ROM-resident (Remus / Capitoline).
  A disk-loaded copy is used for DOS-time scanning only.

INSTALLATION
============
The archive ships two flavours (full / small) and two CPU tiers, each as a
sysroot ready to drop onto SYS:.

  68020+ (A1200 stock, 68020+):
    full/68020/libs/ptable.library    debug-capable (serial output at boot)
    small/68020/libs/ptable.library   no debug code

  68000 (stock A600, 68000+):
    full/68000/libs/ptable.library    debug-capable (serial output at boot)
    small/68000/libs/ptable.library   no debug code

1. Drag the contents of <flavor>/<cpu>/ onto SYS: (the inner libs/ drawer maps
   onto SYS:Libs/), or copy the chosen ptable.library to LIBS: by hand.
     - A1200 (68020+): full/68020/ (or small/68020/)
     - A600  (68000+): full/68000/ (or small/68000/)
2. Copy c/lsptres to C: (optional; lists partition.resource).
3. For cold-boot autoboot, put ptable.library in ROM with Remus or Capitoline.

Use the full flavour if you want serial debug output at boot; use small for a
minimal footprint (no debug strings/code).

LSPTRES
=======
lsptres dumps the current contents of partition.resource (the partitions the
library has published: name, DOSType, geometry, and the resolved mount
Flags/CONTROL). Run it with no arguments:

  lsptres
