pccardserial.device is a driver for serial PC Cards (eg. modems).
In order to work with this device, a modem must be:
- 16-bit rather than 32-bit/CardBus.
- A hardware modem rather than a "WinModem".
Most modems that meet these requirements should work fine, but unfortunately
they are becoming increasingly uncommon. You should look for modems that
work with both MS-DOS and Linux, but even this doesn't guarantee anything.
Another clue is that "WinModems" need quite a lot of processor power, so
their packaging will often state that they need at least a Pentium.
This package is released under the GNU General Public Licence.
